It has been a while since I have spoken with the knights. However, I am still alive and fighting the mighty CT-ART monster. I have now gone through 1132 problems on circle one. According to my schedule, I have 10 days left on the first circle. Any knights out there with experience in using the Sicilian Najdorf? I would love to hear some pointers, as I have been experimenting with that opening recently. Best wishes go out to Don, hopefully he will let us know about the fruits of his labors.

I posted about the Najdorf here http://temposchlucker.blogspot.com/2005/02/something-about-tactics-and-openings.html
Main problem is that it is so well known that often after 8 moves you still not know if you are playing against a grandmaster or a bunger.

Man, you were so close to getting axed. Glad you are still hanging tough.

The Sicilian? What's that? :-)

I never play it (as black) since supposedly at my level it is too risky- black gives white a kingside attack for a long-term positional advantage which he probably won't survive to realize. But on the other hand, at my level "any opening" is playable. Let us know what you find out...

Personally, I'm a 1...e5 player these days, or sometimes 1...d5.

I play an easier sicilian (four nights), but more often or not I wind up facing something other than the main lines (c3, grand prix, smith morra etc.) so make sure you are prepared for these also. I think you have to really be up on your theory and memorize alot of lines to play the Najdorf well, and I hate to study openings...
